LASS Match To Be Announced
We are searching for a new location. Stay tuned.
Who is eligible to shoot?
Graduates of Ladies First Safety Training, Babes With Bullets, USPSA/IDPA shooters, and shooters who can provide proof they have taken formal beginning training and/or achieved skills necessary to participate in the courses of fire. All shooters must have experience in safe gun handling and comprehension of shooting fundamentals to join. If you have not taken any type of firearms training or do not meet a basic pre-qualification, you cannot participate until you take a basic pistol course and/or orientation determined by the LASS instructor(s). Remember, this is geared towards shooters that have taken a basic pistol course or higher, and may have competed in a sport sanctioned match. This match is not meant to be a first beginning lesson. We can schedule a basic pistol course to those interested in LASS, prior to shooting in LASS activities. Please call 520.369.EVAS (3827) if you have any questions regarding qualifications, equipment, etc.
What can you expect?
Expect 3-4 courses of fire in a safe positive atmosphere. This practice-action match is not sanctioned by a sports association and therefore courses will adapt safe practice standards, guidance and courses of fire that enhance skill development. Holsters are not mandatory for your first match but you will be recommended to have a holster and mag pouches thereafter. As your skill sets progress we will meet your needs and challenges.
Will you keep score?
Yes and No. Scores will be provided to the shooters and not publicly posted. During drills we will not keep score. You can determine your individual goals based on your performance. We want you to be focused on your goals and not to be wrapped up on a winner or last place. Strive for personal best. We utilize the current USPSA Handgun Competition Rules book as our guidelines for the LASS organization which would also include scoring, safety, and unsportsmanlike conduct. As firearm discipline changes then that specific USPSA Rulebook will take effect for scoring, safety and all other guidelines.
When do you meet?
Monthly on the 4th Saturday, setup at 7:30am - teardown at 10:30am, Tucson Rifle Club, 18300 West Ajo Highway , Tucson, AZ 85735, TRC Office (520) 822-5189. Shooters check-in at the office then register with the LASS representative.
